Fakhir, an Iraqi soldier, daily risked his life in post-Hussein Iraq to defuse mines and IEDs on a quest to make life safer for his family and fellow citizens. His story is the subject of a new documentary, The Deminer, which will be premiering later this month at the Hot Docs film festival in Toronto.
The 2018 Hot Docs Canadian International Film Festival will run from April 26 – May 6, and The Deminer will be shown on the 29th, the 1st, and the 6th.
