In a July 2014 article published in The Globe and Mail, former foreign minister of Canada from 1995 to 2000 and current Board of Directors member for the Canadian Landmine Foundation Llyod Axworthy, commented on what he views as yet another diplomatic opportunity for Canada to bury the scourge of landmines.
U.S. President Barack Obama’s administration recently announced a change in its policy on landmine production, sale and use, and Axworthy responds to this news by urging Canada to fulfill its final obligations to the Ottawa Treaty.
